The Male MedSpa Market Is Growing 23% Per Year — Are You Capturing It?

The era of the MedSpa as exclusively female territory is over. Male clients are the fastest-growing demographic in aesthetic medicine, driven by shifting cultural norms, increased awareness of non-surgical options, and the undeniable competitive advantage of looking and feeling your best. Understanding how to attract, communicate with, and retain male clients is no longer optional for growth-oriented MedSpas.

Male MedSpa clients spend an average of $1,400 per visit — 18% more than the female average — and while they refer less frequently, their retention rate once established is significantly higher. A male client who finds a practice he trusts rarely leaves.

What Male Clients Want (and Don't Want)

Male clients arrive with different priorities than female clients. They are results-focused, time-efficient, and highly private about their aesthetic choices. They want to know specifically what a treatment does, how long it takes, how long recovery is, and when they will see results. They do not want to be sold to.

Common entry points for male clients include Botox for forehead lines and crow's feet (often framed as “Brotox” in marketing), body contouring, hair restoration, laser hair removal, and skin care programs. Framing matters enormously — “anti-aging maintenance” outperforms “beauty treatments” in every A/B test.

AI Outreach Tailored to Male Prospects

Male clients are significantly less likely to call in proactively. They research quietly and prefer to initiate contact on their own terms. AI outbound campaigns to male prospect lists — purchased from partners, or built from existing client referrals — must be direct and specific.

An effective AI script for male outreach: “Hi Marcus, I'm calling from Apex MedSpa. We specialize in quick, effective treatments for professionals — things like Botox that take 15 minutes with zero downtime, or body contouring with no recovery time. I won't waste your time — would you like a brief consultation to see if anything fits your goals?”

Brevity, directness, and zero pressure are the keys. Male prospects who feel pushed convert at very low rates. Those who feel respected and given space convert well and then stay.

Creating a Male-Friendly Environment

Physical environment matters. A waiting room that feels exclusively feminine creates subtle discomfort for male clients. Small adjustments — neutral décor, gender-neutral language in signage, a private treatment entrance option — significantly improve male client comfort and rebooking rates.

Dedicated “men's hours” — early morning or evening slots marketed specifically to male clients — remove the social self-consciousness some men feel about being in a MedSpa. Practices that offer these report 40% higher male client retention.

The Revenue Opportunity

A MedSpa generating $2 million annually with 3% male clients and a path to 15% male representation adds approximately $240,000 in incremental revenue at current average spend levels. The market is already moving in this direction. The question is whether your practice is positioned to capture it or whether you leave that revenue for competitors who are.
